  • Condition: I don't see any obvious flaws. Bobeches have minor wear but still fit into the candlestick tops easily. They have been professionally cleaned and the bottom felt has been replaced. Both candlesticks are 6 1/2 inches tall or 6 3/4 inches tall with bobeches.

    Victorian Antique Silver Candlesticks Petter Wigren & Follower Sweden ca.1850
    Two silver candlesticks & two bobeches. One candlestick is signed Wigren, the other is signed but unreadable. One bobeche has Petter Wigren's stamp & the other has a different stamp, GD. Candlesticks look virtually identical with only subtle variations, perhaps created by Wigren and his pupil. Petter Wigren was a 19th century Swedish (Malmo) silversmith, active 1846-1876. His mark has a W4 on this piece for date created and other is dated V4 which corresponds to 1851. Silver content is probably 830, which was the standard for Swedish silver the time. They weigh approximately 12  3/4 0z. total. Wigren candlestick weighs 6.75 oz and the other weighs 6 oz. I don't see any obvious flaws. Bobeches fit into the candlestick top easily. They have been professionally cleaned and the bottom felt has been replaced. Both candlesticks are 6 1/2 inches tall or 6 3/4 inches tall with bobeches.
