    Description

This listing is for an fine silver (83.3% silver whereas sterling silver is 92.5%) basket for bread, rolls or pastries that was made in the Netherlands in 1942.  The maker's mark is LM but I was unable to attribute the mark to a specific silversmith.  It is 12 1/2" long, 9 1/2" wide and 4" tall.  Total weight is 20 regular ounces (18.2 troy ounces).
Very good condition for age.  Has a few minor dents/dings on the inside of the bowl and light surface scratches.  The bottom rim has a couple of dents so it doesn't sit perfectly flat (has a bit of a wobble).  I have lightly polished but it needs a more thorough polishing.  No monogram.  A professional silversmith could get this all polished up and the bottom rim irregularities fixed for a nominal charge.
