SIXTEEN inch WW1 Era Norwegian 830 ROMMEGRØT Silver presentation spoon. Norway didn’t participate in WW1 however maintained an army on hand incase needed.
Yes I said 16 inches!
Perhaps the largest silver serving spoon on the market. Issued on 31-5-1918 to "Fra Underofficer Harold Haafagre"
On the back marked with the retailer's name L.B. Jornbak.
Made by Saether Gull (Hans Hohle) in Oslo Norway
The large Spoon has no noticeable deficits but has not been polished, minor age related wear and could use polishing as its tarnished.
Has not been cleaned or polished.
The interior of case is lined. The part under the lining is broken,
The Snakeskin covered box has Very heavy wear and loss (see photos). The original box however is in poor condition. The case has significant wear and is broken in places, clasps do not work. The case itself is dusty and am leaving as found.
There was a small note inside on yellow paper
“Here is the original case that my grandfather’s long Silverspoon came in Horton is a city south of Oslo Norway”
Case is As Is. lacks one clasp.
